Meet Andreas (Andy) Leuenberger

Andy Leuenberger

Andy, how long have you worked in the Syngenta Seedcare team?

I have worked in Seedcare for the past 24 years after previous roles in product management and application technologies.

Can you briefly describe your work in Seedcare?

To get the best performance from a seed treatment solution, we need to apply the products in a safe and adequate manner. So one of the key parts of my role is to specify application quality parameters and assess new products and customized recipes. I also manage the collaboration with seed treatment equipment manufacturers. Together we identify equipment needs for future treatment quality and stewardship.

What excites you the most about working for Seedcare?

I find the growing complexity and need for accuracy in treating seeds very challenging and interesting. In my role I get to interact with many people; colleagues but also with customers and operators. Meeting all these different people is always a great experience. Another exciting part of my role is sharing my years of expertise with colleagues, customers and industry partners via trainings or webinars.

Tell us a little about yourself?

With my farming background I enjoy nature and being out in the fields on a tractor or just walking through the crops. There is always something to see, to feel, to smell and to learn on a field tour. In a spare moment of nice weather I like travelling through the mountains on my motorbike.

It is the small winding roads that I love most. In our village I am also heading a fundraising team with two objectives; having a great time once a year with neighbors and friends and generate some funds for less privileged people.
