TOOL DESCRIPTION

We produce emergence tests in soil/sand trays, simulating stressing conditions, to prove the importance of highly vigorous seeds.
Stressing conditions we simulate: planting too deep (>5cm), lack of humidity (irrigate only at sowing)

ALREADY ESTABLISHED FOR:

Soybean, corn

HOW IT IS USED

  • We explain to the growers that seeds with high vigor are performing better under stressing conditions
  • Any factor that can damage the vigour of seeds (wrong treatment, extensive shaking, higher then recommended rates and slurry volume (very common in the on farm treatment) can reduce capacity of the seeds to perform under stressful conditions
