  • Seedcare Institute network to expand in Australia, the 14th institute globally

Syngenta has today announced global introduction of a new fungicide to address grower needs in soybeans, canola and rice. SALTRO™ contains ADEPIDYN™, Syngenta’s new fungicide molecule with SDHI mode of action. SALTRO™ provides outstanding control of diseases such as Blackleg in canola, Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS) in soybeans, and Bakanae in rice.

Ioana Tudor, Global Head of Syngenta Seedcare, said, “We are excited to be adding SALTRO™ to our broad seed treatment portfolio. It will offer growers even more choices to control early seedling diseases to an unmatched level, by ensuring stand uniformity with strong and healthy plant growth right from the start. SALTRO™ will be used in combination with MAXIM®, VIBRANCE® and APRON® to complement genetic resistance in targeted crops”.

First registrations of SALTRO™ are expected in the United States and Canada in 2019, followed by Australia in 2020.

Syngenta also announced today the expansion of its global Seedcare Institute network with a new Seedcare Institute to be established at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, Australia. The Institute will commence operations in the 4th quarter of 2018. It is the 14th addition to its network of strategic locations around the world to help support customers and advance the use of seed treatment technology with local expertise backed by global reach and knowledge.

“Seed treatment application is a complex activity that can dramatically impact seeds performance and flowability during the busy planting period.  The new Seedcare Institute will provide customers with tailored services and application advice, complementing our exciting pipeline,” said Will Salter, Head of Seedcare Australasia.
